I have had a hamster for a companion for several months now, and the original cage had outgrown its usefulness. This cage is a great size for a Syrian (the larger hamsters), the bars are narrow enough to not worry about escape, and there is plenty of room for a larger wheel and an igloo. The cage is easy to clean, as it simply lifts off the bottom, and the sides are high enough so the hamster can't pee over them. The end clips are a little awkward, I had a similar cage for rats in the past, and it had spring hooks on the ends. Perhaps that is something for the manufacturer to consider.
